Mahadev Deka has won the Mr Universe 2009 title in the bantam weight category at the 2009 Musclemania Superbody world championship held at Florida from June 18-21. Mahadev really deserves a great respect and honor since he is the reason for millions to get inspired. 40 years old Mahadev went through a major heart surgery in 2002, but everything got faded out before his will. The man who never allowed his odds to dominate him and kept alive his passion for Bodybuilding. He has added himself to the history of limited Indians who made their Nation Proud by holding the Mr.Universe earlier. He is now into the club of Legends such as Sri. Manotosh Ray (Mr.Universe 1951), Sri. Manohar Aich (Mr.Universe 1952), Sri. Premchand Degra (Mr.Universe 1988) and now its none other than Mahadev Himself (Mr.Universe 2009).
After 21 years its a time for complete refreshment and a view towards Indian Bodybuilding. Its a proof and a message for the entire world, that we are growing and growing strong.
